LingoSnack is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. When you create an account on LingoSnack, we collect the following information:

• Account information: Your name, email address, and profile picture (provided via your authentication provider).
• Usage data: Dictionary lookups, study items, image generations, and review activity to provide and improve our services.
• Payment information: When you subscribe to a paid plan, payment processing is handled by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status but never your credit card details.
• Technical data: IP address (logged for security in activity logs), browser type, and device information.
• Advertising data: We use the Meta Pixel to measure advertising performance. This may collect information about your browsing activity on our site, which Meta uses for ad targeting and measurement.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve LingoSnack's services.
• Process payments and manage your subscription.
• Track your learning progress and personalize your spaced repetition schedule.
• Send important service updates (we do not send marketing emails without your consent).
• Measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns.
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse.

4. AI Image Generation

When you generate mnemonic images, we send your word, translation context, and optional hint to Google's Gemini API. Generated images are stored in our cloud storage and are visible to all users in the community gallery. Do not include personal or sensitive information in your image hints.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Stripe — for payment processing.
• Clerk — for authentication and account management.
• Vercel — for hosting and image storage.
• Google — for AI image generation (Gemini API) and translation data.
• Meta — for advertising measurement and optimization (Meta Pixel).

6. Data Retention

Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. Translation cache data is retained indefinitely to improve service performance. You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time by contacting us.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
• Export your data in a portable format.
• Withdraw consent for data processing.
• Opt out of personalized advertising.
