Terms of Use

LingoSnack is operated by Nikandr Software Development, a company registered in Hong Kong SAR.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using LingoSnack ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use LingoSnack. If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you may only use the Service with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Account Registration

You must create an account to access certain features. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

4. Subscription Plans

LingoSnack offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually through Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan:

• You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
• You may cancel at any time from your dashboard. Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us within 7 days of a charge for assistance.

5. Usage Limits

Each plan includes monthly limits for dictionary lookups, AI image generations, and study items. When you reach your limit, you may upgrade to a higher plan. Limits reset at the beginning of each billing cycle.

6. User-Generated Content

You may provide optional hints for AI image generation. By submitting hints:

• You retain ownership of your text input.
• You grant LingoSnack a non-exclusive license to use the hint for image generation and to display generated images in the community gallery.
• You agree not to submit content that is illegal, offensive, defamatory, or infringes on others' rights.

7. AI-Generated Images

Images generated through LingoSnack are created using third-party AI services. Generated images are displayed in the public community gallery. You may not claim exclusive ownership of AI-generated images.

8. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service.
• Abuse rate limits or access the API in an automated manner beyond normal usage.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.

9. Intellectual Property

The LingoSnack name, logo, design, and software are the property of Nikandr Software Development. Dictionary data is sourced from third-party providers and is subject to their respective terms.

10. Limitation of Liability

LingoSnack is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Hong Kong SAR. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation or, if necessary, submitted to the jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong.
